Annette O'Toole:
a respectful tribute to an
underrated actress.
- Born in Houston, Texas in 1952, Annette's natural dramatic gifts span a wide range. She possesses an appealing talent to suggest wounded vulnerability; the other end of her scale encompasses a powerful expertise to project a will of steel. Unfortunately, most producers have squandered this remarkable mastery to portray victims and harridans, with one notable exception. When she assumed the rôle of Rose in "The Kennedys of Massachusetts," her considerable acting skills were fully engaged; it resulted in deserved nominations for an Emmy and a Golden Globe. She currently lives in Ashland, Oregon.
- This E! Online - Fact Sheet about her is a bit patchy.
- Her Filmography at the Internet Movie Database is somewhat more complete.
- It's quite a treat to see her performances regularly on TV; the cast index page at the "Nash Bridges" site appears to have been assembled by her (there's also a charming 31K portrait).
- Check AltaVista and MetaCrawler for other sites, or purchase one of her movies on videotape.
Ms. O'Toole is entitled to more recognition -- hence this site!
